TIFTON — An investigation into a body that was found in the 400 block of 11th Street this morning is ongoing.

At approximately 4 a.m. Friday, officers with the Tifton Police Department responded to a report of a body, according to Sergeant Ferron Yi with the Tifton Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Department.

The deceased was identified as Marilyn Ross.

Investigators were called in and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist with the scene.

According to Yi, the investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.
