TIFTON — A shooting at the Waffle House in the 700 block of 7th Street late Friday night ended with one employee dead, according to the Tifton Police Department.

The shooting, which occurred either late Friday night or early Saturday morning, began as an attempted robbery while the employee was outside the restaurant, according to officers.

The name of the deceased employee has not been released.

One person is in custody but it has not been confirmed that this person was involved, according to Detective Jacob Teter with the TPD Criminal Investigation Department.

The shooting is under investigation by the Tifton Police Department.

No other details have been released at this time.
