Woman flashes lights at inmate, charged with trespass

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie woman’s Saturday visit to her jailed boyfriend brought them a little closer, as the romantic nature of her midnight gesture — including flashing of car lights outside the facility– was not apparent to law enforcement.

About 30 minutes after Colquitt County E-911 personnel notified police of the incident, officers arrested Brandi Debruce at her residence.

The dispatchers notified the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office that a driver had taken a 2002 Toyota Sequoia between the 911 building and the fencing of the jail. The driver flashed headlights at Pod 3 inside the Colquitt County Jail facility.

A dispatcher got the tag number for the car, and a short time later police found it parked in Debruce’s driveway at 209 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

She told police that she drove back to Pod 3 to wave at her boyfriend.

Police charged Debruce, 27, with criminal trespass.
