MOULTRIE, Ga. — A 35-year-old man was fortunate to walk away with apparently minor injuries after he was stabbed in the chest during a Saturday night confrontation in a Moultrie night club.
Salvador Lopez, 43, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after the incident at about midnight Sunday inside Latino’s Night Club, Moultrie police said. He is accused of stabbing 35-year-old Rodolfo Martinez.
“There was an argument between them, and at one point Salvador pulled out a knife and stabbed him,” Moultrie Police Department Lt. Raul Leal said. “I believe it was (in) his chest.”
Martinez was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel, but refused to be taken to the hospital, Leal said.
A Moultrie officer working as a security guard at the club reported the incident, Leal said.
Leal did not know what sparked the argument, but said that alcohol may have been a factor.
