Hardigree first in prelim at National Championships

MOULTRIE – Moss Farms diver Parker Hardigree turned in a first-place finish in the 16-18 boys 3-meter springboard prelim/quarterfinal on Sunday at the 2017 USA Diving National Championships being held on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus.
Hardigree is one of 13 divers representing Moss Farms in the National Championships, which have drawn more than 400 athletes from around the country.
Semifinals and finals in 16-18 boys 3-meter event are scheduled for Thursday.
Also representing Moss Farms in the semifinals is Chase Lane.
Hardigree, who scored a 517.05 on 3-meter, also competed in the 1-meter prelim on Monday and placed 20th with a 414.55.
Teammate Walker Lewis also was entered in the 1-meter event and was 43rd with a 339.45.
Two Moss Farms divers competed Saturday, the first day of the Championships.
Jewelia Chambers placed seventh in the 11-and-under girls platform prelims, posting a 132.45.
Also on Saturday, Jet Geovanni was 23rd in the 11-and-under boys 1-meter finals.
On Sunday, Abigale White was 16th in the 14-15 girls 1-meter prelim with a score of 261.80.
Emily Ann Wolfson competed in the 16-18 girls 1-meter prelim and was 27th with a score of 347.95.
Geovanni competed again on Sunday, finishing 15th in the finals of the 11-and-under boys platform event. He scored a 149.05.
Bo Bridges, diving in the 12-13 boys platform prelim on Sunday, finished 15th with a 192.55.
Chambers was back in the water on Monday, placing ninth in the 11-and-under girls 1-meter, with a 167.45.
Geovanni placed 12th on Monday in the 11-and-under boys 3-meter prelim, scoring a 157.70.
Abigale White was 12th in the 14-15 girls 3-meter prelims, also held Monday. She scored 291.50, just 1.05 out of ninth place and 3.65 out of eighth.
In the 16-18 girls platform prelim, Kelliann Howell was 19th with a 309.75.
Bridges was back in action on Monday and turned in a 20th-place finish on the 3-meter springboard in the 12-13 boys age group.
