Medical research: “Thanks for the editorial on medical research. I have family members who anxiously await breakthroughs in the treatment of various diseases. I was happy to see that gene therapy is now allowed for some leukemia victims. Reducing medical research funds would be a travesty. Imagine where we might be if we spent less money fighting wars and more on medical research!

Who can afford it?

“I routinely search the web about medical research and new medicines. While I’m excited about new treatments, the price of these treatments scare the hell out of me, especially since health care has become a political football. What have we accomplished if a cure is found but only the rich can afford it.

Thieves

“To all of the people that have come in my yard at night and taken our stuff, there is no more! I work so that I can buy my husband’s medicine. I can not replace the tools and things that you have taken. We now can not hang a picture nor clean up our yard. Thanks.

Wee hours crime

“I read in the crime report where people get robbed and attacked in the wee hours of the morning. So what are these people doing out walking the streets at that time of night?

Suggestion

“I have an observation. Many people put pictures of people in the obits of when that person was very young. I haven’t lived here my entire life, only the last 18 years and don’t recognize them from those early pictures. Any chance that someone could put side by side photos in the obit, one in their younger days and one of the present?

No luck

“We have called the city for months to get the cans on our street pulled back with no luck. There was one person with one can, now they have three in front of their house that they leave out all the time.We never see these people in the day light hours? Makes our street look like a dump,thanks city.

Infrastructure

“Do the council members ever venture beyond their own districts? The city infrastructure is in terrible condition, and we can build a downtown park? The streets all over town are full of pot holes and patch work. If the citizens start submitting bills for damages to their cars, maybe just maybe.

Delusional!

“Trump says he’s done more in five months than any other president. Wow! This boy president is incredibly delusional! It amazes me that he has any support at all.
