Three minors life-flighted following Tuesday wreck

LIVE OAK, Fla. — Three children under the age of 12 were life-flighted in serious condition following a one-vehicle wreck Tuesday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Teodoro Castro, of Live Oak, was headed east on U.S. Highway 90 at 6:45 a.m. when he thought a vehicle was going to pull out in front of him from the Suwannee Correctional Institution.
The report states that Castro swerved his 1999 Toyota SUV left into the westbound lane before overcorrecting the steering wheel back to the right.
According to the FHP report, when the SUV traveled back into the eastbound lane, it began spinning counter clockwise before flipping over several times.
The report states the vehicle ended up on the eastbound shoulder on its roof facing the highway.
The three children, ages 1, 4 and 12, were all life-flighted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville with serious injuries.
According to the report, none of the children were wearing seatbelts or child restraints.
The report states one child was partially ejected out of the back window of the vehicle.
Castro suffered minor injuries and was transported to Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center.
He has been charged with careless driving, driving without a license, child restraint violations and had outstanding arrest warrants, according to FHP.
Angelica Valencia-Vidal, 37 and also from Live Oak, also sustained minor injuries and was taken to Shands Live Oak.
Both Castro and Valencia-Vidal were wearing their seatbelts, according to FHP.
