VSU pitcher Austin Hamilton signs with Los Angeles Dodgers

Valdosta State pitcher Austin Hamilton is moving on to the big leagues.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced the signing of 25 players Wednesday, and the Blazers’ left-hander was among four undrafted free agents to ink a deal.

Hamilton made 17 appearances for Valdosta State this past season, starting 16 games in which he went 5-6 with a 4.08 ERA over 90 1-3 innings.

The 6-foot, 185-pound junior threw five complete games over the course of the season, striking out 103 batters to just 27 walks. Opposing batters hit .248 against Hamilton.
