2 more charged following Friday drug bust

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Two additional residents of a Colquitt County household have been charged with felony marijuana charges after a Friday raid turned up about a half pound of suspected marijuana.
Police initially charged only Johnny Matthew Cox, 51, after a search of his 1422 Overlook Drive residence. Agents with the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Team conducted the search on Friday afternoon.
They also took Johnny Matthew Cox Jr., 27, and Melissa Lynn Cox into custody the same day, and charges were filed later.
All three have now been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Sheriff’s Office
• Johnathan McDonald, 18, 324 Grizzly Bear Road, was charged Saturday with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of a drug-related object.
• Jamie Dwayne Prosser, 29, 389 Ione Road, Pavo, was charged Tuesday with two counts criminal trespass.
• Nolan Ryan Thompson, 25, 1746 Grady Matthews Road, was charged Tuesday with theft by receiving stolen property and simple assault.
• Desmond Simon, 25, 500 Seventh St. S.W., was charged Tuesday with battery and criminal trespass.
• Mary Lee Starnes, 36, 330 S. Railroad St., Norman Park, was charged Tuesday with failure to appear.
• Matthew Glenn Daniel, 28, 1741 Mitchell County Line Road, Hartsfield, was charged Friday with battery.
• Stephan Isaac Martinez, 45, 1320 R.L. Sears Road, Norman Park was charged June 10 with simple battery and stalking.
Moultrie Police
• Martevia Roberts, 27, 403 E. College Circle, Doerun, and Pearlisha J. McCormick, 23, 225 Indian Lake Drive Lot 7, Norman Park, were each charged Tuesday with disorderly conduct.
Police arrested the two women while investigating a call at about 9:17 p.m. of a disturbance at a convenience store in the 1300 block of Veterans Parkway North.
Store video shows the two women walk toward each in a “hostile manner” and engaging in an argument, police said.
A store employee told the women to leave and that police were on the way, but they ignored her.
• Anthony Lorenzo Giddens, 35, 120 10th St. S.W., was charged Tuesday with theft by shoplifting.
Police arrested Giddens after investigating a shoplifting at Oxley’s, 800 W. Central Ave.
The store recovered property valued at $14, including two air fresheners and roach spray, police said.
• James Arthur Brown, 57, 3301 Plaza Drive, Tifton, was charged Tuesday with theft by shoplifting.
Brown is accused of stealing property valued at $255 from Wal-Mart, 641 Veterans Parkway S.

• Fred Lasseter, 1800 block Sylvester Highway, reported Monday the theft of $320 by an employee at Lasseter Mechanical.

• Jimmy Morrell, 300 block Pineboro Road, reported Monday the theft of a 38-inch cut Poulan riding lawn mower valued at $1,200.
• Joseph Robertson, 1700 block Thigpen Trail, Hartsfield, reported Sunday the theft of a 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer by a male relative.
While a deputy was speaking with Morrell a second officer notified them that Robertson’s stepson had wrecked the car. Robertson told police that he wanted to press charges for theft of the automobile.
Moultrie Police
• Angela Graves, 1500 block Fourth Avenue Northeast, reported Tuesday the theft of a PlayStation game system and towels with a total value of $1,172.
Graves also told police that her daughter is scared of a group of people who have a key to the residence.
The officer suggested that Graves speak with apartment management about having her locks changed.
• Phyllis McNeil, 600 block Jefferson Street, reported Tuesday the theft of a Briggs & Stratton push lawn mower valued at $150.

• Brett Gerald, 1200 block 10th Street Southwest, reported Tuesday the theft of a Glock pistol valued at $595.
Gerald told police that he locked his car and went inside, and when he walked outside to smoke a cigarette had observed that the overhead light was on in the car and the driver’s door was open.

Moultrie Police
• Sherry Jean Barber, 1300 block First Avenue Northwest, reported Tuesday that someone used her personal information to fraudulently open credit accounts for Victoria’s Secret and SunTrust Bank.
Property damage
Sheriff’s Office
• Rebecca Nims, 200 block Joe Gray Road, reported Monday that a male acquaintance who had her Apple cell phone returned it to her demolished after she ended their relationship.
Nims told police the man also has sent multiple harassing text messages to her.
Moultrie Police
• Sammie Moore, 900 block Sixth Avenue Southeast, reported Tuesday that someone damaged a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado and a 1987 Chevrolet Sportvan.
• Michael Todd, 53, Moultrie, reported Tuesday that the driver of a Cadillac SUV struck the rear of his 2014 Chevrolet Silverado while he was stopped for a red light at the intersection of First Avenue and First Street Southwest.
Todd told police that the other driver turned at the light and drove away without stopping.

• Sharn Hawkins, 1300 block 11th Street Southwest, reported Tuesday a prowler in his yard.
Hawkins told police that he was outside smoking a cigarette at about 1:10 a.m. when he saw a black male dressed in black with black shorts crouched by his truck. When Hawkins picked up a baseball bat and walked toward the truck the male ran into a neighbor’s yard.
