End of times? “Every day we are seeing more and more carnage at the hands of madmen, either working in concert or alone, they bomb, shoot and stab innocent people. It ranges from our own neighborhoods to around the world. Biblically speaking, we must be in what is known as the ‘end times.’

Suggestion

“I agree that we must all be careful and patient with all the farm equipment and trucks hauling produced on our roads. I would suggest, however, that a tractor driver should be aware of the traffic gathering up behind him and perhaps pull over occasionally to let some of it pass. Just a ‘passing’ thought.

Issues of proof

“For the benefit of the person who sounded off about the trial on June 14, 2017, the standard of proof in criminal trials is that the defendant is presumed innocent until proved guilty ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’   It is not ‘beyond a shadow of doubt’ nor is  the standard of proof  the ‘preponderance of evidence’.  Preponderance of the evidence  is the standard of proof for civil trials.

Hypocrites

“Most Democrats are hypocrites.  They elected Bill Clinton twice knowing he groped Miss Arkansas in his office, had numerous affairs, used an intern for his personal pleasure and requested about two hundred Republican files from the FBI.  How did that conversation go?  Hillary and I need some light reading, Mr. Director of the FBI.  Could you pretty please send over the files on these two hundred Republican congressmen?

 Now the Democrats are self-righteously pointing fingers at President Trump for using a term for part of a woman’s body and asking the FBI director a question.

In response

“I admit it.  The Russians paid me twenty million to vote for President Trump.  My vote had nothing to do with their failed policies and the fact that I didn’t trust Hillary Clinton. It was the mean old Russians  Let’s spend millions of dollars exploring that and neglect the problems this country faces.

Our mess

“Washington is in such a mess. The world must be laughing at our circus … a nation that is supposed to be the showcase for leadership and democracy.

Applause

“I want to applaud those who manage our local library. It’s a tremendous asset to our community. If only more people would use it.

Tom’s letter

“Just read Tom Rogers letter to the editor. Not really sure what he was saying. Seems like he was saying the local newspaper is not necessary. Yet it seems he routinely uses it to exalt his deep thinking.

Best bet?

“So it seems my best bet in a drive-by shooting is to be armed and shoot back.
