MOULTRIE, Ga. — Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Moultrie celebrated Flag Day Wednesday with a flag retirement ceremony, held in conjunction with the local Daughters of the American Revolution.

When American flags become worn or damaged, the appropriate disposal is by burning in a solemn ceremony laden with history and symbolic meaning.
