Damon Sha Crosby was captured in Columbia County today by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

LAKE CITY — Damon Sha Crosby was captured in Columbia County on Thursday morning by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

According to CCSO Public Information Officer Murray Smith, Crosby was arrested at Cedar Park Apartments around 11:30 a.m.

CCSO had received information that the suspect was at the apartments and using undercover officers, it confirmed that he was there, according to Smith.

Smith said the apartments were cornered and as the SWAT team was about to make a tactical entrance, the suspect exited the building and turned himself over to authorities.

Crosby was wanted for attempted murder after an incident in Hamilton County on Tuesday and had been on the run since then.

According to Hamilton County Sheriff Harrell Reid, Crosby shot at a bail bondsman Tuesday when he attempted to take him into custody at an apartment complex in White Springs.

Reid said the man ran into a wooded area following the shooting.

Crosby has an active felony warrant out of Columbia County for Failure to Appear.
