MOULTRIE, Ga. — Investigators are waiting on toxicology reports to try to answer why a Colquitt County man died in his bathtub.

A sister of William A. Stripling, 55, discovered him unresponsive in his tub on April 23.

The sister and a friend forced open a window after Stripling did not answer the door that morning at his residence in the 100 block of Gene McQueen Road. They also noticed water covering his yard.

An autopsy performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation did not completely explain the circumstances of Stripling’s death, Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock said.

The GBI said the water in the yard apparently came from the overflowing bathtub. The agency was asked to head up the investigation.
