Stories conflict about how man was hurt

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Depending on which story you believe, a Norman Park man who was sent to the hospital with a bleeding head either was injured when a truck hood fell shut, by someone wielding a machete or during a fight between two other men. The victim, Raymond Rivera, 40, was drinking at about 10:20 p.m. with friends at his 182 Sleepy Bear Road residence when he got the blow to the head. A neighbor called police. Rivera told the first officer at the scene that while they were working on a truck the hood slammed down on his head. After he had been loaded into an ambulance he told police that someone struck him with a machete. His story changed again later. “He said he was drinking and he woke up in the hospital,” said Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Chris Robinson. Robinson, an investigator, said that apparently there was no crime committed.
