Moultrie firefighters work to open the driver’s door of a minivan struck by a box truck on Sixth Street at Second Avenue Northeast Wednesday morning. The driver of the van was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

MOULTRIE, Ga. — The driver killed in a morning traffic accident in Northeast Moultrie has been identified as a Norman Park woman.

Patricia Cooper, 53, of Newton Road, was pronounced dead at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday at the scene of the accident, Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock said. The collision occurred at Sixth Street and Second Avenue Northeast.

Cooper was driving a minivan that was struck in the driver’s door by a box truck after she entered the intersection.

A full accident report from the Georgia State Patrol post in Thomasville was not immediately available.
