MOULTRIE, Ga. — On Friday, May 19, officers from the Moultrie Police Department and Colquitt County Sheriff’s Department will come together to present the Annual Fallen Heroes Ceremony.

All community members are invited to attend. The event begins at 10 a.m. on the courthouse square.

The Fallen Heroes ceremony provides an opportunity for community members to come out and help honor the memories of those fallen in the line of duty.

This years’ guest speaker will be Johnny O. Smith, father of fallen Georgia Southwestern State University Police Officer Jody Smith.

The Moultrie Police Department Chaplain staff will coordinate the ceremony with the assistance of Moultrie Police Department’s Honor Guard, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard and other distinguished guests.

“We hope that community members will come out and support this event,” said Moultrie Police Chief Frank Lang. “These ceremonies are important in honoring our fellow officers and their families.”
