Colquitt County Schools honor paraprofessional

MOULTRIE, Ga. — The Colquitt County School System recognized a paraprofessional at R.B. Wright Elementary School as its BRAVO Employee of the Year during a reception Thursday afternoon at Colquitt County High School.
Belinda Everett has been employed with the Colquitt County Schools for four and a half years.
“Mrs. Everett is an asset to our students and our staff,” R.B. Wright Principal Summer Hall shared. “Teaching students to be kind and care for others is Mrs. Belinda’s mission and what a difference it makes in their lives.”
Everett and husband Stephon have three children, Zykerious, Zuntacerious and Zhu’nekwai.
Everett shared what this honor means to her, “I try to be a person that wakes up each morning and treats the world the way I want to be treated. I laugh, I love, but most of all I live. This honor pushes me to keep moving forward, keep aiming high, but most of all, keep loving people.”
Along with Everett, other finalists for the award were Rosa Muniz, a migrant tutor at Funston Elementary, and Lynn Mitchell, a paraprofessional at Norman Park Elementary.
The BRAVO (Balancing Responsibility and Achievement while Valuing Others) Employee Recognition Program is in its 13th year and was created to promote the Colquitt County Schools’ shared values of excellence, innovation, continuous improvement, peer recognition, and school spirit.
Each site nominee receives a plaque and $200 in BRAVO Bucks (to be received in the December 2017 paycheck). Each of the three finalists receives a trophy and an additional $200 in BRAVO Bucks, totaling $400. The Employee of the Year receives a trophy and an additional $200 in BRAVO Bucks, totaling $600, as well as special gifts from Altman and Barrett Architects and from Jostens.
Site nominees included:
• Karron Blackwell, a bus technician at the Colquitt County Schools’ Bus Shop who is in his seventh year with the Colquitt County School System.
• Marti Baker, a copy room paraprofessional at Colquitt County High School who has been employed in the Colquitt County School System for six years.
• Mary Ruffin, a classroom paraprofessional at Cox Elementary School who has been employed in the system more than 30 years.
• Mary Sue Thompson, a school nurse at Doerun Elementary School who has been employed in the Colquitt County School System for three years.
• Rosa Muniz, a migrant tutor at Funston Elementary School, has been employed with the Colquitt County Schools for five years.
• Susie Wisham, the guidance clerk at C. A. Gray Junior High School who has been employed with the Colquitt County Schools for four years.
• Katina Harrell, a paraprofessional at Hamilton Elementary School who has been employed with the Colquitt County Schools for 22 years.
• Lynn Mitchell, a paraprofessional at Norman Park Elementary School who has been employed with the Colquitt County Schools for six years.
• Sheila Brooks, the secretary at J. M. Odom Elementary School who has been employed with the Colquitt County School System for 30 years.
• Nancy Anaya, a paraprofessional at Okapilco Elementary School who has been employed with Colquitt County School System for three years.
• Monica Daniels, a paraprofessional at Stringfellow Elementary School who has worked with the Colquitt County Schools for three years.
• Delinda Russell, a paraprofessional at Sunset Elementary School who is in her 12th year with the Colquitt County Schools.
• Cindy Glow, the secretary for the Pre-K Program who has worked for the Colquitt County Schools for 12 1/2 years.
• Tonya Davidson, the registrar at W.J. Williams Middle School who has been employed with the Colquitt County School System for nine years.
• Belinda Everett, a paraprofessional at R.B. Wright Elementary School who has been employed with the Colquitt County Schools for four and a half years.
