A tip of the hat

Dear editor:
I have to give a tip of the hat to my former townsfolk in Moultrie and Colquitt County Ga.
I get there fairly often for football games but rarely spend time driving around and looking at the city. I took the time to do that yesterday while visiting my sister who’s in the hospital.
The Quitman Highway improvements past Robert Hutson and toward Spence Field are finally completed and looks terrific. There’s many new stores and other business’s being built there and on the bypass.
The downtown area has never looked better with many shops and dining locations. There’s several new housing subdivisions being built with some gated areas included.I drove around the new high school including Packer Park.
The new indoor multipurpose field is under construction along with the new field house and athletic center.
A new outdoor turf practice field is almost already completed and looks awesome. The entire new school and athletic facilities are state of the art and second to none in the state and most likely the nation.
I’m very proud of my old home town and it’s governing bodies including the citizens for what they’ve accomplished.
I’m more than proud to call Moultrie my old home town and always look forward to my visits.
