CAIRO — A collision between a driver and a Decatur County school bus resulted in an arrest and students sent to the hospital on Friday night.
A driver, who was arrested for driving under the influence, pulled out in front of a bus traveling westbound on Highway 84, near Pierce Chapel Road, according to Georgia State Patrol Sgt. 1st Class Tommy Peeples, commander of Post 12 in Thomasville.
Thirty-one students were transported to Grady General Hospital but no serious injuries were reported.
“It’s my understanding none were actually injured,” Peeples said.
The Decatur County students were returning to Bainbridge from an event.
