MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County Farm Bureau recently delivered a Reading Barn filled with books about agriculture to the Media Center at Okapilco Elementary.
Colquitt County Farm Bureau has two Reading Barns circulating through the Colquitt County School System. The barns will remain at each school for six weeks before rotating to the other elementary schools in the system, the Gifted Education Center and Colquitt Christian Academy.
The Reading Barns will spend the summers at the public libraries in Moultrie and Doerun.
New books will be added to the barns each year.
The barns were constructed by Colquitt County Farm Bureau Vice President Thomas Coleman and are funded by a grant from the Georgia Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture and by the Colquitt County Farm Bureau.
