Jean Eaton Gay receives purchase award

This year’s ‘Southern Creations’ art competition and exhibition was held in Ashburn, Ga., sponsored by the Turner County Arts Council. The art was displayed at Victoria Evans Memorial Library from March 6-25, where winners were announced at a reception held March 23.
Moultrie artist Jean Eaton Gay was recipient of the show’s Purchase Award for her oil painting ‘The Chattahoochee, Answering the Call of Nature.’ In addition she was named recipient of the People’s Choice Award for her painting ‘Sunday Scene on Gordon Street.’
The Purchase Award choice each year is sponsored by Golden Peanut Company and becomes a part of a permanent collection on display at the Ashburn Turner County Chamber of Commerce.
