Hahira kicks off third annual Springfest

HAHIRA – The Third Annual Springfest will kick off this week in Hahira.
Hahira Merchants Association President Vicki Rountree said the festivities will kick off Thursday evening with a “Girls Night Out” paint party at Frogtown South. The tickets were pre-sold and guests will be painting an iconic fixture in Hahira.
Friday morning kicks off with a groundbreaking for the new Hahira Depot. Kellerman Construction will begin working on this facility that will provide 1,869 square feet of performance stage, restroom facilities, 2,000 square feet of banquet space with caterer’s kitchen and a shelter area for Hahira’s historic fire truck, Rountree said.
The groundbreaking is slated to take place 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, behind the caboose.
Art After Dark begins 5:30 p.m. Friday at A+B, Etc., 123 W. Main St. Tickets will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
Saturday will be the Springfest festival from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with a variety of vendors and a kid zone. The DTM Band will perform behind the caboose 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The merchant open house will take place 3-5 p.m. Sunday with select downtown merchants opening for business. A meet the artists exhibit and reception will be held 5-7 p.m.
