MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Norman Park man’s trip to jail on misdemeanor charges turned more serious when the arresting officer found suspected meth inside his sock during a search.

A Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office deputy went to a residence in the 100 block of Tallokas Circle, where he thought he would find Kenron Allen Elkins. At the time, Elkins, 40, 353 Doc Lindsey Road, was wanted on warrants charging him with failure to appear and probation violation.

The officer searched Elkins’ pockets before driving him to the jail, but a more thorough search inside turned up a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine inside of his right sock, police said.
