MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt Regional Medical Center is experiencing a high patient volume as a result of various viruses that are rampant in Southwest Georgia at this time.
“Our Emergency Department is open and continuing to treat patients who need emergency medical care; however patients with non-emergent conditions should seek care from a primary care provider if possible,” Colquitt Regional Marketing Director Emily Watson advised. “Delays can be expected and we are asking for understanding from patients and caregivers who visit our Emergency Department.”
Out of concern for the health and well-being of patients and employees, Colquitt Regional is encouraging the community to consider the following recommendations:
• Please do not bring children to the hospital to visit loved ones. Our policy does allow children over 12 years of age to visit, but during this time of viral outbreak please leave children with a caregiver when visiting a loved one or when seeking care for yourself in the Emergency Department.
• All visitors will be asked to wear a mask while in patient areas.
• Please visit your primary care provider if you need medical care during normal business hours. For help in finding a physician please call the Physician Referral Line, 229-891-9362.
• Please be diligent in washing hands or using hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer dispensers are located at all entrances and throughout the hospital.
“Patient safety is our number one priority and we appreciate your cooperation in assisting us as we care for our community,” Watson said.
