THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The 2017 Red Hills Gerontology Conference will be held 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, March 31, at the Campus Center on Thomas University’s Forbes Campus. Professionals from area agencies, groups, churches, organizations and family caregivers will meet to discuss this year’s theme of “Resiliency in Older Adults.”
This will be Red Hills’ fifth conference. The organization began in 2007 as a way to bring together professionals who work with older adults and their caregivers.
This year’s featured speakers will include Ramona King, Ms. Senior Southwest Georgia, and Betty Sawyer of Legacy Village. King will share about her battle with cancer, and Sawyer will discuss her caregiving journey through Alzheimer’s disease.
“These older adults will inspire us all through their personal resiliency, and the way they use this inner strength to encourage everyone they meet,” Dr. Steve DePaola, conference organizer, said.
A light lunch will be provided. For more information and/or to RSVP, contact Dr. DePaola at sdepaola@thomasu.edu or call/text 229-740-1181.
