DALTON, Ga. — A Dalton-area church had its front windows shot out for the third time in less than nine months over the weekend, and now a $1,000 reward is being offered by the church for information leading to an arrest.
Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Detective Chris Guay says the windows of Iglesia Mundo de Amistad (World of Friendship Church) on Hill Road were shot out on July 24 and Aug. 16 of last year and again sometime Friday night or early Saturday. He said after the latest shooting, workers cleaning up the broken glass found pellets or BBs indicating the windows were shot out with some sort of air gun.
Guay and Vivian Medina, a spokeswoman for the church, say no threats have been made against the church and no one has claimed responsibility.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 278-1233 and ask for Guay or to call Medina at (706) 218-2229.
