THOMASVILLE — Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society is looking to raise funds and awareness — one penny at a time.
Coins for Critters is a fundraiser enlisting elementary youngsters from each school system in a challenge to raise the most money.
Funds are raised by students filling up a piggy bank with as much coins and spare change as possible.
First Baptist Church students partook in the fundraiser.
A total of $333 dollars was raised from First Baptist students.
Harper Elementary, a Thomasville City School, raised $195.
Thomas County Federal is also taking part in the fundraiser. Along with providing a pizza party to the winning class at each school, Thomas County Federal will match the money raised by the overall school winner up to $1,000.
For more information on the fundraiser, contact the Humane Society at 228-0613.
