Not a prank
“It sounds like someone tried to make the incident on the bike trail where a woman was tackled on a dare equivalent to a childish prank. No sir, that was a thug being a thug.”
Tragedy
“The death of the man in the wheelchair is incredibly tragic. Our hearts go out to his family. But let’s face it, motorized wheelchairs on busy thoroughfares are a danger on the best of days. Let’s take another look at the ordinances or laws that permit this kind of traffic.”
Observation
“Thanks for the page one photo from Cox Elementary. That illustrates the good things going on there. And there are a lot of good things going on there.”
Identify yourself
“Whoever it is that keeps alleging discrimination in our schools, community, etc., why don’t you step forward and identify yourselves and present your data. It seems like you are hiding behind ancient arguments and extreme generalizations. Give us details and make your case.”
Sweep at schools
“Thanks to the newspaper for giving us the details about the sweep at the schools. So many rumors were flying that had no basis.”
Too many chiefs?
“Four assist superintendents? Are you kidding? More coffee cup holders walking around the district office aimlessly.”
Pay raise
“All school subs and long term subs deserve a pay raise!”
Parking tickets
“When is the last time you have seen an officer write a parking ticket? We have a neighbor that likes to park in front of a fire hydrant. Does he get a ticket, no. The officer parks behind his car, goes and knocks on the door and asks them to move the car. Do they even have ticket books?”
That’s why
“Someone asked why it takes so many police cars to show up at a wreck or a traffic stop. Well I’ll tell you why. It’s a matter of safety … safety for everyone, including the officers. At least one officer has to seek information from those involved. Another has to direct traffic and see that the gawkers go safely on their way. And in my opinion, another one must stand guard duty because of all the nutcases they have to deal with.”
Domestic violence
“I, too, have witnessed spousal abuse big time. Please promote them getting help!”
