FITZGERALD, Ga. — Bo Dukes was arrested Friday in Ben Hill County in connection to Tara Grinstead’s 2005 disappearance, according to court documents.

The arrest comes one week after 33-year-old Ryan Duke, who is not related to Dukes, was arrested in neighboring Irwin County and charged with Grinstead’s murder.

Bo Dukes is charged with concealing death, tampering with evidence and hindering the apprehension of a criminal.

In the arrest warrants, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Jason Shoudel said Dukes is accused of destroying and hiding Grinstead’s body at Fitzgerald Farms off Bowens Mills Highway 129 in Ben Hill County.

Multiple news outlets reported that Dukes bonded out of jail Thursday after being held there for a couple hours. According to documents, the suspect waived his first appearance rights.

Dukes and Duke both attended Irwin County High School, where Grinstead taught.

After Grinstead’s October 2005 disappearance, the GBI followed up on hundreds of leads and conducted numerous interviews, but the case remained cold for more than 11 years.

However, the GBI said a recent tip led to new interviews and “enough probable cause to secure an arrest warrant for Duke, charging him with the murder of Tara Grinstead.”
