Observer seeking civic group information

Published 9:30 am Thursday, March 2, 2017

Ah, spring! The time of year when Moultrians’ fancies turn to thoughts of … the 2017 Colquitt County Community Guide!

The arrival of the Community Guide — a collection of important local information and telephone numbers — has become an annual event since The Moultrie Observer first published it in 2003. This year’s edition will be inserted into The Observer March 31. Single copies will also be available at The Observer’s office, 25 N. Main St. in Moultrie.

The guide presents information about city and county governments, Colquitt County Schools, Southern Regional Tech, ABAC on the Square, agriculture, health services and much more. It’s a great primer for newcomers and a great reference for all residents of Moultrie and Colquitt County.

One of the sections in the guide deals with civic groups. We need members of such organizations to call us with updated information. Inclusion in the civic group list is free of charge.

The information we especially need includes:

• Name of the organization.

• Contact person, including a phone number and/or email address that we can publish.

• Purpose and/or activities. What does the group do?

• When and where does it meet?

• Eligibility for membership.

• Dues.
