Underhanded political posturing

Dear editor:
Our local government fully expects each citizen’s cooperation when it comes to providing tax dollars. SPLOST taxes – equal sharing of governments’ cost.
Would it be fair to ask why our county and city government failed to include this single-issue option sales tax vote during national elections back in November. Voting at that time would have cost us taxpayers nothing.
They held off in deference to minimal objections from voters, where a far less turnout on a single issue referendum assures passage.
Surprise, next year we will be asked to vote again on a single issue T-SPLOST (supporting transportation’s needs.) Folks I support sharing the cost of government.
I do not support under-handed political maneuvering of public trust. I favor open and fair government.
Each of our local leaders must show responsibility if we are to have an exemplary government in Moultrie, Georgia, my place of birth.
