Moultrie police investigate multiple thefts

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Numerous thefts investigated recently by law enforcement included a retailer who reported that an employee stole some $1,100 in cash and merchandise and a Moultrie woman who had $1,700 in cash taken.
On Monday, Wal-Mart, 641 Veterans Parkway S., reported that an employee had stolen cash totaling $129 and merchandise valued at $969.
In the second incident Kanisha Williams, 25, Moultrie, reported Monday the theft of $1,700.
In other thefts
• Marcia Bishop, 60, Moultrie, reported Tuesday that she did not sign out of an automated teller machine in the 200 block of 200 First Street Southeast and that the person in line behind her removed $200 from her account.
• Pruitt Health, 3003 Veterans Parkway S., reported Sunday the theft of $450.
Police listed the victim as 66-year-old Martha Gale Johnson.
• Dollar Tree, 603 Veterans Parkway South, reported Saturday that a shoplifter who had concealed merchandise in her purse ran out of the store after an employee started to call police.
The woman got into a dark Chevrolet SUV and left. The employee recovered the merchandise, which was valued at $1.
• Sandra Richardson, 44, Moultrie, reported Saturday the theft of a wallet containing $500, a check for $168 and identification and other cards.
• Shell Food Mart, 401 Veterans Parkway N., reported Saturday that the driver of a Chevrolet Z71 pumped $23 worth of gas and left without paying.

• Arnold Blackstone, 600 block Fifth Avenue Southwest, reported Monday the theft of property valued at $114.
Battery

• Tykeira Hill, 500 block First Avenue Southwest, reported Tuesday that a female acquaintance assaulted her.
• Jeanette Young, 600 block Third Street Southwest, reported Saturday a confrontation with a female relative at her residence.
Tracy Cox, Young’s sister, told police that Young punched her in the face and chest and requested emergency medical personnel check her out.
Cox had no visible injuries, police said, and a witness who drove Cox to Young’s told them that Cox rushed into the home causing a “heated altercation.” Cox was cleared by medical personnel and did not require hospitalization.
• Monquella Collier, 700 block Second Street Northwest, reported Friday that a juvenile male relative hit her in the face and threw her phone to the ground, breaking it.
Collier had swelling on her lip and a red mark around the mouth, police said.
• Denise Davis, 600 block Third Street Southwest, reported Friday that a male companion pushed her during an argument.
Davis told police that there is a trespass order prohibiting the man from her residence but that she has continued to allow him to come over.
An officer told her that the order is not valid if she allows him in her residence and explained how she could seek a warrant in Colquitt County Magistrate Court. Davis had no visible injuries, police said.
Ronald Johnson told police that he had somewhere else to stay for the night and left with a friend.
Property damage
Moultrie Police
• Rebekah Massey, 21, Moultrie, reported Friday that a driver with whom she competed for the same parking space in the 400 block of Veterans Parkway North struck her car.
Davis told police that she parked in the space and that the driver of the Chevrolet Equinox struck the right side of her car and drove away.
• Kimberly Bridwell, 38, reported that another driver struck the rear of her car while she was in a restaurant drive-through line in the 1700 block of First Avenue Southeast.
• Eric Williams, 25, Moultrie, reported Friday that a 2007 Nissan Altima was damaged while parked in the 1700 block of First Avenue Southeast.
• Theresa Carolina, 600 block Second Ave. S.W., reported Friday that someone scratched her 2002 Acura MDX during the night.
