MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Detectives with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office plan to look into whether or not several local teenage boys have been illegally tattooed.

Detective Capt. Brad King said one such case has been reported to the sheriff’s office and that he had just learned about it.

“We’re going to be looking into it,” King said Monday morning.

The mother of a 13-year-old boy told Deputy Charles Gillis that her son had received a tattoo, according to an incident report.

The woman said the incident, which is considered a crime because of the boy’s age, happened sometime between noon Feb. 12 at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Feb. 17.

Gillis said in his report that the woman, who lives on North Main Street in Milledgeville, said the tattoo was representative of a gang, known as “YSB.”

The initials reportedly stand for “Young Slaughter Boys,” a gang of middle school teen boys.

The woman said she had viewed Facebook and saw at least one other teen that had received the same kind of tattoo that her son had received.

The 14-year-old is reportedly a student at the same school that the woman’s son attends.

Gillis said he was shown another photograph of a third teen.

King said tattooing a child underage is a misdemeanor offense.

No one had been arrested as of Monday afternoon in connection with the ongoing investigation.
