MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County High School FFA recently placed first in the state in Agricultural Marketing.
To get to the state competition, the team won first place at the Area Competition with their agricultural marketing plan based on Local Produce located at the Farmer’s Market and owned by local farmer, Elton Baldy.
Team members Logan Moore, Kaitlyn Hart, and Mary Logan Tostenson studied the current market and developed an advertising plan based on a real business model.
The students will be honored on stage at the State FFA Convention in April in Macon and will advance to the National FFA Convention in October held in Indianapolis, Ind., to represent the entire state of Georgia. More than 60,000 FFA members from all over the country will be in attendance at the National Convention. This is the third time in six years that the Colquitt County FFA has won this state contest.
This event is one of the many educational activities in which the FFA members apply classroom knowledge to real-life situations. The Georgia FFA Association has the third largest FFA membership in the nation with over 40,000 members.
