MOULTRIE, Ga. — Just before press time Saturday, The Observer learned of what may be an officer-involved shooting between Moultrie and Autreyville.

According to reports, a Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Blackberry Lane in connection with a domestic disturbance. In the initial call, the dispatcher said one of the people involved might have a knife.

Shortly after the officer arrived on scene he called for backup and an ambulance.

The incident appeared to have been an officer-involved shooting, but no details were available to confirm that before The Observer went to press.

The wounded person’s identity and condition were also not available.

The shooting follows by less than 24 hours an alleged homicide at a Moultrie night club. Officials from the Colquitt County Coroner’s Office and the Moultrie Police Department did not respond to calls from The Observer on Saturday seeking to confirm that incident.
