Super Bowl rides offered
VALDOSTA, Ga. – Super Bowl fans who have had a little too much to drink will have a ride Sunday. Law-enforcement officials, Black Crow Media and Johnson Distributing met to discuss the AAA Tow To Go program being offered during Super Bowl weekend, according to a press release. Since 1998, Tow to Go has removed more than 24,000 impaired drivers from roads across the Southeast and the Midwest, according to the press release. The Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation and Budweiser provide this program to prevent impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel and risking the lives of other motorists. The program offers:
– Confidential tow truck ride within a 10-mile radius to a safe location.
– The AAA tow truck takes the vehicle and the driver home.
– Free and available to both AAA members and non-members.
– Tow to Go may not be available in rural areas or during severe weather conditions.
Attending the event were Jennifer Mitchell with Black Crow Media, Lt. Mike Adams from Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and J.B. Jones from Valdosta Police Department. The group urges South Georgia residents hosting a Super Bowl party that includes alcohol beverages to also offer non-alcohol beverages, according to the press release. Provide plenty of food and encourage guests to space their alcohol beverages throughout the night. “Most importantly, before the final whistle, make sure everyone has a game plan for a safe ride home.” Find a designated driver, taxi or use AAA Tow To Go by calling (855) 2-TOW-2-GO. Tim Keller of Johnson Distributing said, “No matter who you’re cheering for, Atlanta or New England, we should all be on the same side when it comes to keeping our roads safe. This Sunday – and every day – play your part: Make the right call, drink responsibly.”
