My thoughts: “After reading several comments about 4-way stops and roundabouts, I had a moment of deep thought. These devices in our roadways can be perceived as elements to teach courtesy and patience. I doubt it will stop road rage per se but I do think they will minimize collisions.

“Ms. Conger, I am extremely proud of our medical professionals, and the quality of care provided by them and CRMC. For every one naysayer like you, there are thousands who have gratitude for the high level of skill and the caring hearts of health care worker in our county. We also need opportunities for anyone who wants to learn.

Young people

“There are so many negative things being said about our young people today. However, when we have one student picked for the State of Georgia to go on the first ever Breakthrough program for Key Club there is nothing in the paper. This young lady needs The Observer to interview her or something.

Sports teams

“Ms. Cooper  I’m so sorry your children did not make the soccer team. However, ‘persistence, passion, and outgoing personality’ are not the only qualifications to being on a sports team. You did not mention any previous experience with soccer which is usually required by the time a child reaches the middle school level.

Sad sight

“It is so sad to see the MLK Parade crowd getting thinner and thinner. Not to mention the lack of diversity in the crowd. This is not just a “black thing”. It should be a community coming together to celebrate a great man such as Martin Luther King. I just don’t understand the divide. Sad.

Days of old

Suggestion

“When it comes to an overcrowded jail, why don’t we do like that sheriff out in Arizaona … just put up some tents or barracks and surround them with razor wire?

Scares me

“What scares me about setting up a recreation authority that can raise its own taxes is that an equal amount of those taxes may not be reduced from the local governments now financing these programs.

No guarantee

“We have no way to guarantee that taxes would be reduced by the city and county if an authority with taxation powers should assume these duties. If we go that route, let’s get everyone involved on record and hold them accountable in this regard.

Gun permits

“I agree. If I have a gun carry permit, then I should be able to take it anywhere I want.
