“Many of the small churches referred to in Thursday’s Rants and Raves pop up because of strong theological differences. Some think the gospels are not be taught with a predominance. And some of these churches pop up to serve a segment of our community who may not feel comfortable in larger more established churches. “You make a good point: If someone walks into a public place and opens fire, the average citizen is going to dive for cover or run. The idea that he might pull his on gun and return fire is ridiculous. The chances of that happening with a good outcome is slim and none. The exception to that would likely be an off-duty police officer who would be armed and trained to react accordingly.
