THOMASVILLE, Ga. — It’s official.
The electorate will have the opportunity to vote in March on Sunday alcoholic beverage sales in Thomasville.
Thomasville City Council voted unanimously on second reading Monday of two ordinances:
• To allow Sunday sales of alcohol beverages for consumption.
• To allow Sunday package sales of alcoholic beverages.
Council votes authorized a special election on Tuesday, March 21.
The council conducted two public hearings on Sunday beverage sales. The first was heavily attended, and the majority of comments revolved around putting the question on a ballot.
