MOULTRIE, Ga. — A 17-year-old was charged Friday after he allegedly shoved a Moultrie police officer.
The officer had been called to the teen’s home in the 1200 block of West Central Avenue because his mother was having problems with him.
The officer spoke with Sheila Hillie then they went to Nigel Hillie’s room, where the teen was on the telephone. The officer told him to get off the phone and talk with him.
“From that point on Nigel would not communicate with me and when I went around the bed he was sitting on he stood up as if to leave,” the officer’s report read. “At this point Nigel became very aggressive towards me and when I put my arm out to get him from walking away he started yelling for me not to put my hands on him. When I had my arm out I did not place my hands on Nigel.”
The officer said Nigel Hillie got into his face to where the officer had to back off. The teen then walked across his bed in an attempt to leave the room. The officer tried to stop him. His report said the teen then put his hands on him and pushed him out of the way. The name plate was knocked from the officer’s uniform and the body camera was knocked off its holder.
The teen ran from the house, but another officer found him a short distance away and placed him under arrest.
Nigel Hillie, 17, 1246 W. Central Ave., was charged with simple battery.
