Reckless: “I would not call it ‘celebratory gunfire.’ I would call it ‘reckless endangerment’ and I think we have laws against that.

Insane

“It’s insane that people go wild and fire guns into the air. It’s tragedy waiting to happen and then it has happened.

Gun activity

“With all the gun activity we have in our community, it’s surprising that we don’t have more deaths from them.

I was lucky

“I, too, grew up in a home with second-hand smoke. To this day, I cannot stand the smell of cigarette smoke. It nauseates me. Fortunately so far, I have not been diagnosed with any kind of lung disease. I was lucky. I know of others who were not so lucky.

Thanks

“I want to thank the man who brought me the leftover ham scraps to help me feed my dog. That was very kind of him.

Wasteful

“During the holidays my wife and I were at a restaurant and I observed a family that went back to the buffet for seconds and thirds. But, they left an incredible amount of food on their plates when they left, especially the children. Obviously these people did not grow up the way I did and they were not taught the things I was taught. So I just wonder if the trait of such wastefulness is carried over into other venues in their lives.

Trash system

“Well the trash system is a mess. The alley behind Third Street alone is a disgrace. Please get these alleys cleaned up — meaning the old trash containers need to be picked up. Most all of them are full and running over and of course the trash is everywhere. Pictures to council next.

Applause

“Shout out to the nurses and support staff with great smiles in CRMC pain clinic you ladies rock! Thank you all for what you do on a daily basis.

Learning values

“What makes the boy’s basketball program exciting is not the won/loss record but the character the boys exhibit. These young men are learning values which are demonstrated on the court. Congratulations to Coach Harden for a job well done of teaching and coaching.

Not uncommon

“Reckless use of 4-wheelers and other such devices is not uncommon in our community. Riding one on the side of the road is not safe either. Hit one little washout on the side and the next thing you know you are out into traffic and that doesn’t end well.

Gunfire

“I hear gunfire a lot in our community, especially at night. Is that someone celebrating or what? By the way, I live inside the city limits and I know that would be against the law. Does anyone else hear this?
