MOULTRIE, Ga. — Law enforcement agencies made one arrest in a bad check case during a week in which officers investigated several similar cases.
Macon Lajetta Revill, 30, 517 26th St. S.E., was charged Wednesday with two counts of forgery, one of which is a felony charge.
Bishop’s, 402 First St. S.E., reported that Revill cashed a check in the amount of $2,210 at the business. The check was returned by the bank.
Revill told police that she received the check by FedEx from an online employer.
Police spoke with an employee at Union Bank and Trust who told them that there were insufficient funds in the account.
At the time Revill was arrested, police said, there was an outstanding warrant for her arrest from the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of misdemeanor forgery.
In another forgery case, police will take warrants on a Thomasville man who passed a bad check at the BP convenience store, 103 Veterans Parkway.
The check, which had the appearance of being on a J. Harvey’s Buffet account was written for $601.23, police said.
The BP store also reported on Thursday that Revill was the person who cashed a check for $543.08 that also was from J. Harvey’s, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear whether that was the warrant described above charging her with misdemeanor forgery or whether this is an incident in which she hasn’t been charged.
And on Wednesday Olga Dieguez reported to the sheriff’s office that a customer at her husband’s body repair business paid with a check for $200 that was returned by the bank.
