Youths can audition for ‘Lion King’
VALDOSTA, Ga. – Auditions are scheduled this weekend for youngsters wishing to be a part of the “Circle of Life.” Little Actors Theatre holds auditions Saturday for “The Lion King Jr.,” said Diane Tovar, LAT director. The “Jr.” designation means the show is an abridged version of the original musical and is specifically designed with a young cast and crew in mind, according to organizers. Auditions are open to children and teens, ages 5 to 19 years old, Tovar said. Since “The Lion King Jr.” is a musical, children auditioning should be prepared to sing a short song of one minute, Tovar said. Children selected are expected to rehearse 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays; with more rehearsals during the week prior to show dates, according to LAT. The show is scheduled to be performed March 4, 5. Auditions are scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, Little Actors Theatre headquarters, 1108 S. Patterson St. More information: Visit www.littleactorstheatrevaldosta.com.
