MOULTRIE, Ga. — The William Bryant High School Class of 1969 recently celebrated the 65th birthdays of its class members at Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club in Cordele, Ga. The evening began with scripture and prayer by Julius Brown, and a brief candle lighting ceremony led by Lillie Little in memory of the 36 deceased classmates.
The birthday dinner was served in the Cornelia Dining Room as the evening proceeded with a fun-filled program. Class President Dale Williams delivered inspiring words to the group. Evergreen Sheffield Micheaux, presented a plaque to Williams in recognition of his service to the class as president since 1965.
After singing the School Alma Mater, Otis Brown and Curtis Daniels regaled the class with memories from grade school through graduation.
The birthday fun continued with Patricia Daniels Lee and Laura Ponder Merrill presenting each class member with a birthday “gift” indicative of that special advent into senior citizenry. The evening ended with birthday cake, a champagne toast, and Charlie Lee leading the class in the singing of “Happy Birthday.” The class danced “in place” to their theme song, “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now.”
Classmates and their guests each received a souvenir program and gift bag.
