The two-mile walk will take participants through downtown Thomasville like previous years.

The festival, which was added to the event in January of this year, will feature various vendors and entertainment.

The purpose of the event is multifaceted.

The first is to commemorate MLK holiday, along with encouraging youth and adults to be more humanitarian.

The event also aims to promote exercise and battle obesity and promote giving back to the community, among other aspects.

Awards, gift certificates from various Thomasville businesses, and cash prizes will be given out.

The event is sponsored by Restoration Tabernacle Ministries.

Pre-registration for the walk can be completed at www.mlkhumanitarianwalk.org

Admission is free with donation to a charitable organization.
