MOULTRIE — A Moultrie man was arrested on Tuesday by officers investigating a report of someone in a mask making threats at the First Avenue Southeast Sonic.
When an officer arrived in the area at about 8:05 p.m. he found Karey Jermaine Elliot standing next to the road in front of Harvey’s grocery yelling and pointing at cars, police said. Elliot smelled of alcohol, police said, and was using profanity. He “was rambling on about random things” and became irate several times.
A second officer spoke with employees at Sonic, who reported they locked the doors because they were scared because Elliot was looking into the windows and causing a disturbance.
When an officer arrested Elliot and tried to place him in the back of a police car he refused to get in and, when seated, refused to place his legs inside the car.
After Elliot was inside the car he continued yelling and using vulgar language as they drove to the jail.
Elliot, 32, 329 Hwy. 111, was charged with disorderly conduct and malicious mischief.
