At about 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Bishop Jackson reported detaining a teen-ager who stole a can of gasoline from his residence in the 1400 block of 10th Street Southwest.

Jackson reported that he saw what appeared to be a young male wearing a black hoodie in his yard. The prowler grabbed the gasoline can and ran to the Jeep. When the driver stopped at the intersection of 10th Street an 15th Avenue Southwest the male who took his gas can got out of the Jeep and walked over to his residence.

Jackson told police that he detained him, but while he was inside calling 911 the male left. He estimated the cost of the can and gasoline at $20.

Officers searched for someone matching the description given by Jackson, but were unsuccessful.

At about 2:53 p.m. a Moultrie Police Deparmtent investigator spotted the Jeep exiting the Northgate apartment complex at 1515 Fourth Avenue N.E. As the driver approached the stop sign the officer saw that there was one young male on the roof.

As that officer turned around to follow the driver sped away, but another officer stopped the Jeep about two minutes later where four males abandoned it and ran away. Police caught up with all four.

Prior to the traffic stop employees at Northgate called police to report that the occupants of a green Cherokee left after they had damaged property there.

The employees reported that two doors were damaged and that fire extinguishers from apartments under construction were taken and sprayed inside two apartments.

Police found four fire extinguishers in the vehicle after it was abandoned.

All four of the suspects that police took into custody face misdemeanor theft charges in connection with the Cherokee. All are between the ages of 14 and 16 and have been charged as juveniles. They also could face additional charges in the other reported incidents.
