MOULTRIE, Ga. — The Colquitt County Board of Education has met all criteria and has been recognized by the Georgia School Boards Association as a GSBA Exemplary School Board for the second year in a row at the recent 2016 GSBA Annual Conference. This recognition is the highest offered by the GSBA.

The implementation of the GSBA Governance Team Achievement Recognition program in 2012 includes a three-year, three-tiered program beginning with the Quality Board, then Distinguished Board and finally Exemplary Board status.

‘We as a Board of Education are to lead by example,’ Chairman Mary Beth Watson said. ‘The requirements to be named an Exemplary Board are rigorous and guide boards to strive for excellence as they set policy and carry out their duties. We stand firm on our commitment to serve with integrity, vision, and with the best interests of our students and staff first and foremost in our decisions.’
