Countryside neighbors joined forces over the weekend getting and giving Christmas spirit. Volunteers climbed ladders and decorated lampposts then joined other neighbors for the first ‘Lighting of the Magnolia.’ From left are Ernie Venet, Doug Strange and Bob Qurnell.

A candlelight vigil was held in memory of their neighbor, Mary Trescot. The Colquitt County Serenaders led by Travis Kern serenaded the group with Christmas melodies. Refreshments followed the festivities.

The residents of the neighborhood, located off Lower Meigs Road, invite the community to drive through Dec. 23 to see the luminaries.
