DALTON, Ga. — A Dalton man is in custody after fleeing from authorities and leading them in a chase on Thursday from Whitfield County that ended in a field in Walker County, Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office officials said.
Robert Lanartine Rouillier III, 44, of 1537 Ashton Woods Way, was taken into custody after the chase that involved the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol. According to booking records at the county jail, this is not the first time he has been involved in a chase as his booking report included charges from a previous incident.
Sheriff’s Office Capt. Rick Swiney said the call started as a disturbance at a residence on the west side of the county. By the time deputies responded, the suspect had left the residence, but was soon found and the chase ensued.
Rouillier has been charged with two counts of fleeing to elude, two counts of driving on a suspended license, two counts of driving on the wrong side of the road, two counts of DUI, two counts of failure to stop at a stop sign, two counts of failure to maintain lane, a seat belt violation, reckless driving, failure to signal and felony probation violation.
